Built for bold play. Held to plain rules.
Climbing is meant to challenge — never to harm. This page explains how we design, install, and inspect for safe play at home, and what we ask of you in return. No fine print doing quiet work. Safety certification and third-party testing are part of our launch process before family installations begin.
Stable, free-standing design
No drilling, no wall anchors. Every gym is engineered to stand securely on its own — and stay put during play.
Professional installation
A trained Playdapt team installs every gym and checks every connection before we leave. You lift nothing and assemble nothing.
Inspected at every visit
We inspect the gym on site at every delivery, swap, and service visit — and we're one message away in between.
Your child's safety is the foundation everything else at Playdapt is built on. This page explains the standards we hold ourselves to, the role you play at home, and the participation waiver that applies to use of the equipment. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
01Safety standards & testing
Safety certification and third-party testing are part of our launch process before family installations begin. We won't install a gym in a family's home until that work is complete, and we'll share the results plainly when it is.
Every Playdapt gym is designed to CCPSA children's product safety standards — the requirements set by Canada's Canada Consumer Product Safety Act. We select materials, holds, and safety mats made for children's use, and every gym is inspected between placements.
- Free-standing structures engineered to stand securely on their own — no drilling into your walls or floors
- Age- and stage-appropriate configurations, designed for children aged 2–10
- A safety mat included with every gym — it must stay under the gym whenever the gym is in use
- Hardware, holds, and mats inspected, cleaned, and re-checked between homes
02Professional installation
You never assemble a Playdapt gym. Our trained team delivers and installs it, levels and tensions every connection to specification, and confirms the safety mat and landing zone are correctly placed before we leave. Because every gym is free-standing, there's no drilling and nothing is fixed to your walls or floors — the structure is engineered to stand stable on its own. We won't sign off on an install we wouldn't trust for our own kids.
03Preparing your space
Before delivery we confirm your space is suitable — including ceiling height, footprint, and clearance around the climbing zone. If your space isn't suitable, we'll tell you honestly before you commit a cent. To keep it safe at home, please keep the area around the gym clear of furniture, hard edges, and obstacles.
04Adult supervision
Adult supervision is required whenever the gym is in use. A responsible adult must actively supervise children at all times. Playdapt is not a substitute for supervision — nothing we design, install, or inspect replaces an attentive adult.
Playdapt gyms are designed for children aged 2–10. Younger children need closer supervision — stay within arm's reach while they climb. Match the activity to your child's age and ability, and let them climb at their own pace. Supervision is the single most important safety measure in any home climbing setup.
05Safe-use rules
To keep climbing safe and fun, we ask that everyone follows a few simple rules:
- One climber on a section at a time, unless the configuration is rated for more
- Climb on the equipment as intended — no pushing, pulling others, or roughhousing on it
- Bare feet or grippy socks; no slippery socks, loose cords, helmets, or items that could catch
- Keep the safety mat under the gym at all times and the landing zone clear during use
- Don't exceed the weight or age guidance we provide for your configuration
- Stop use immediately if anything feels loose, worn, or unstable, and contact us
06Maintenance & servicing
We safety-check the gym at every delivery, swap, and service visit. Between visits, a quick check goes a long way. Before each play session, take ten seconds to look for anything loose, cracked, or worn; once a week, confirm the frame feels stable, the holds are tight, and the mat sits fully under the gym.
Please don't move, modify, repair, or relocate the equipment yourself — doing so can compromise its safety and is not permitted under our Terms. If anything needs attention, contact us and our team will service or swap it.
07Report a concern
If you ever notice something that doesn't look or feel right, stop use and tell us right away at hello@playdapt.com. We treat every safety message as a priority and will inspect, service, or swap the equipment as needed.
08Assumption of risk
Climbing and active play involve inherent risks, including the risk of falls, scrapes, strains, or more serious injury, even when equipment is properly installed and maintained. Our job is to reduce those risks through design, installation, and inspection — no play equipment can eliminate them. By allowing your child and household to use a Playdapt gym, you acknowledge and accept these inherent risks as part of physical activity.
09Participation waiver
By using a Playdapt gym, the account holder agrees to the following on behalf of themselves and any user of the equipment in their home:
I confirm that I am the parent or legal guardian, or an authorized adult, and that I will ensure active adult supervision during all use of the equipment. I have read and will follow the safe-use rules and supervision guidance on this page.
I understand that climbing carries inherent risks, and I voluntarily accept those risks. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I agree that Playdapt is not liable for injury or loss arising from misuse, unsupervised use, failure to follow safety guidance, or unauthorized modification or relocation of the equipment.
Nothing in this waiver limits any rights I have under applicable law that cannot be waived, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
This waiver works alongside our Terms of Service. Acceptance of these terms is confirmed at sign-up.
10In an emergency
If a serious injury occurs, call 911 or seek medical help first. Once everyone is safe, let us know at hello@playdapt.com so we can support you and inspect the equipment. For non-urgent questions about safe use, our team is always one message away at hello@playdapt.com.
