Privacy policy.
Your trust matters as much as your child's safety. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you keep — written to meet Canada's PIPEDA.
Playdapt ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in connection with our home climbing-gym subscription. We handle your information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy law.
01Our commitment
We collect only what we need to deliver, install, service, and support your subscription — nothing more. We are accountable for the personal information in our custody, including information handled by service providers on our behalf. Our Privacy Officer oversees compliance and can be reached at admin@playdapt.com.
02What we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact details — your name, email address, phone number, and home delivery address
- Subscription details — your chosen plan, installation date, and service history
- Home & fit details — ceiling height, footprint, and access notes needed to install safely
- Child context — limited, optional details such as your child's age range, used only to recommend the right configuration
- Payment information — processed securely by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers
- Communications — messages you send us, and notes from our team about your service
03Why we collect it
We identify the purposes for collection at or before the time we collect your information. We use personal information to:
- Confirm your eligibility and that your space is suitable
- Schedule and carry out delivery, installation, swaps, and collection
- Process your Care Bond and recurring subscription payments
- Provide support, safety guidance, and service reminders
- Meet our legal, safety, and accounting obligations
04Consent
We collect, use, and disclose your personal information with your knowledge and consent, except where permitted or required by law. By providing your information and using our service, you consent to the uses described in this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual limits — though doing so may mean we can no longer provide the service.
05How we use it
We limit use to the purposes for which the information was collected. We may send you service-related messages about your subscription. We will only send marketing or promotional messages where you have opted in, and every such message includes an easy way to unsubscribe.
07Children's information
Playdapt is built for children, but our service is purchased and managed by parents and guardians. We collect children's information only from a consenting parent or guardian, keep it to the minimum needed to recommend a safe configuration, and never use it for advertising.
A child's information is treated with extra care. We don't market to children, and we don't collect more about your child than the age context needed to fit the gym to them.
08Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed to fulfil the purposes above and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. When information is no longer required, we securely delete, destroy, or anonymize it.
09How we protect it
We protect personal information with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, including:
Data is encrypted in transit, and payment data is handled by PCI-compliant providers.
Only team members who need your information to do their job can access it.
Providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only as instructed.
A named Privacy Officer oversees our practices and responds to your requests.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where required by law.
10Your rights
Under PIPEDA you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Withdraw consent to certain uses, subject to legal and contractual limits
- Ask questions about our policies and practices and how your information is handled
To exercise any of these rights, email admin@playdapt.com. We'll respond within the timeframe required by law, usually within 30 days.
11Cookies & our website
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Where required, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies.
